Postdoctoral Researcher at University of Cagliari, Italy
Dr. Subrat Kumar Jena is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Engineering (DICAAR) at Università degli Studi di Cagliari, Italy. Previously, he was an Institute Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Applied Mechanics at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi), India, where he worked under the mentorship of Prof. S. Pradyumna for two years. Prior to that, he served as an Honorary Postdoctoral Fellow at the Nonlinear Multifunctional Composites – Analysis & Design (NMCAD) Lab, Department of Aerospace Engineering, Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru, India, under Prof. Dineshkumar Harursampath. Dr. Jena also holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela, India, supervised by Prof. S. Chakraverty.
My research lies at the intersection of advanced mechanics and applied mathematics, focusing on developing robust computational models for complex physical systems.
Analysis of stress, deformation, vibration, and buckling in nano and micro-scale structures using advanced beam theories.
Development of analytical and semi-analytical methods (Homotopy Analysis, Differential Quadrature) for solving differential equations.
Modelling of biological systems, fractional calculus applications, and wave propagation in complex media.
Handling fuzzy and interval uncertainties in structural parameters to predict reliable bounds for dynamic responses.
